Bob Sherman and pianist Daniel Hsu

This week on the Young Artists Showcase, host Bob Sherman presents a recent first prize winner of the Concert Artists Guild’s Victor Elmaleh Competition, pianist Daniel Hsu. On this program, Hsu gives an exciting preview of his Carnegie Hall debut program at Weill Recital Hall on Tuesday, April 18th.

Since 1951, the Concert Artists Guild has helped hundreds of musicians launch their concert careers, providing management support, concert bookings, and other opportunities to its annual competition winners. Daniel Hsu joined the winners circle in 2015, and the following year, he made his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Hsu is a 2016 Gilmore Young Artist, and he has earned top prizes in numerous other competitions including the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition and the San Jose International Piano Competition. Born and raised in California, Hsu is in his 9th year at the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studies with Gary Graffman.
