14-year-old violinist Soo-Been Lee ((2014 YCA winner))

Young Concert Artists has nurtured the budding talents of classical music since 1961. Founded and still directed by Susan Wadsworth, YCA holds international auditions during the fall to accomplish this mission. Each of this past year's six winners will be featured in 2015-16 in major debuts in New York, Boston and Washington, D.C. Tonight hear a preview of those recitals.

Korean cellist Sang-Eun Lee begins the program with Schumann, followed by a Bach Partita performed by Hungarian pianist Daniel Lebhardt. Paganini’s virtuosic La Campanella was transcribed for viola by William Primrose and performed by 17-year-old Chinese violist Ziyu Shen. Japanese flutist Seiya Ueno wowed the invitational audience with Fantasie Brillante on Themes from Carmen and we close with a movement from Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto, performed by the audition's youngest winner, 14-year-old Korean violinist Soo-Been Lee.
