Dario Marianelli and Howard Shore are among the most accomplished contemporary composers for film. Each brings an affinity for classical music to their film work, and each has created an intriguing, distinctive body of work.

David Garland presents some of Marianelli's music for "Atonement," "Anna Karenina," "Quartet," and his first foray into animation, "The Boxtrolls." From Howard Shore we hear music for "M. Butterfly," "Dead Ringers," "Maps to the Stars," and "The Hobbit an Unexpected Journey."
