Verdi baritones

Saturday, May 20, 1995

Baritones owe Verdi some of the greatest roles in opera --but inhabiting these roles is a huge challenge that few achieve successfully. George Jellinek plays examples of nine "true great Verdi baritones" through the ages in two arias:

"Pari siamo!" (Rigoletto)
"Eri tu" (Un ballo in maschera)

2003-05-01 rebroadcast.
