The lilting rhythm of the waltz can convey hope, nostalgia, and tenderness—which makes it perfect for the movies! David Garland presents waltzes by Bernard Herrmann, Georges Delerue, and of course, Johann Strauss Jr., that have made their mark in movies.

Jerome Moross included waltzes in his understated score the 1968 Joanne Woodward film "Rachel, Rachel," and that leads us into a set of music from films that have starred this wonderful actress.
