WQXR 50th Anniversary Show [Album # 12]

Sunday, June 29, 1986

Host Bob Sherman brings us back to July 13, 1962, the day WQXR host Commander Edward Whitehead interviewed singer and actor Martyn Green. The two discuss Green's career interspersing excerpts of a number of Green's Gilbert & Sullivan comedic opera performances: "I've Got a Little List" from The Mikado; "Am I Alone and Unobserved" from Patience; "My Eyes are Fully Open" from Ruddigore, "The Judge's Song" from Trial By Jury; "On a Tree by a River a Little Tom-Tit" from The Mikado; and one non-Green performance, "Yum-Yum's Song" from The Mikado. This is part 1 of 2.
