Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

This weekend's Saturday at the Opera is Mozart's Don Giovanni, so for this week’s Showdown we’ve chosen the duet "La ci darem la mano" from that opera, which is also today’s featured recording for the Month of Mozart. Choose from three great Don Giovanni/Zerlina duos, and we’ll play the winner today at noon.

We asked you to cast your vote for which of these three great Zerlina and Don Giovanni duos you wanted to hear. You chose soprano Mirella Freni and bass Cesare Siepi performing with the Royal Opera House Covent Garden Orchestra under the direction of Sir Georg Solti and we played it at noon.

i've made my choice of the second on the list; but for an unexpectedly charming rendition, see if you can find the version sung by frank sinatra & kathryn grayson in the movie "it happened in brooklyn"
