Sustaining Members give us a dependable base of support for the programs you count on. When you become a Monthly Sustainer, your donation is ongoing until you say otherwise. Your credit or debit card will automatically be billed each month. You’ll save time, money, and resources!

1. How do I update or make changes to my Sustaining Membership?

There are a few different ways you can change your payment information for your monthly donations:

  • Call our 24-hour pledge center at 888-813-1059, and let them know you need to adjust your monthly donation.
  • You can also make a new sustaining pledge online. Once you submit the donation, please write "updating credit card" in the comment field on the receipt page. Be sure to select the drop down option special instructions for membership. If you have a new address or any change to your account information, you can enter this in the same field on the receipt page, we'll make sure it is updated for you.

 

2. How do I cancel or suspend my Sustaining Membership?

Call our Sustaining Member line at (646) 829-4217 with your request, or use our contact form. Be sure to include your contact information and/or membership ID number with your request. Your membership ID number can be found on your MemberCard.

 

3. How do I update my contact information or check on the status of my account?

To update your contact information or check on your membership, please call our Sustaining Member line at (646) 829-4217 or use our contact form. Be sure to include your full name and/or membership number in the message.

 

4. Why am I getting renewal notices? I thought I was a Sustaining Member.

You may have a duplicate membership account under different contact information. Please contact our Sustaining Member line at (646) 829-4217 or use our contact form for further information about your membership.

 

5. I just pledged to give monthly. When will my card be charged?

Your first monthly gift will be charged 1-2 business days after you have made your pledge. After that, your card will be charged monthly on the anniversary of your original donation (the date the pledge was made).

  

6. Is there a place to log on to change my payment information for my monthly donations?

Unfortunately, no. Right now, we do not have the systems in place for members to log on to our website to make changes to their membership accounts, but we are working towards making that feature available in the near future. For now, please contact us here or here to ask questions about or update your membership.

7. Do I have to pledge again to receive a thank you gift?

No. If you have not chosen a gift with your pledge for the year, you can request one at any time, even during pledge drives. To request a gift use our contact form or call the Sustaining Member line during regular business hours at (646) 829-4217.

  

8. When can I expect my thank you gift?

Please allow approximately 6-8 weeks for the processing and delivery of your requested thank you gift. This includes The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and Wired magazine subscriptions.

 

9. Does my New Yorker, Atlantic or Wired subscription renew with my Sustaining Membership every year?

No. The magazine subscription is for one year. As a Sustaining Member, your membership is ongoing, but due to the arrangements we have with each magazine we can’t automatically renew gift subscriptions of a magazine. However, since you are eligible for a gift every year, you can ask us for the magazine annually with a phone call to the Sustaining Member line at (646) 829-4217 or use our contact form.

 

10. Am I entered into the pledge drive contests?

Yes. As a monthly Sustaining Member you are automatically entered into all pledge drive contests. You do not have to fill out the online entry form or call in a pledge during the on-air pledge drives.

 

11. Will my pledge be matched during an on-air pledge drive matching period?

No. The matching periods only apply to new pledges rather than monthly ones. Matching periods are time sensitive in that they only last as long as the available funds do, so we aren’t able to apply matching funds to existing donations. However, your pledge is just as important to us during non-matching periods.

 

12. Is my gift to WQXR tax-deductible?

Yes. Your gift your gift to WQXR is fully tax-deductible, minus the fair market value of any thank you gifts requested.
