I believe in the wonderful work that WQXR does for classical music. I couldn't live without the station, and I want it to continue for future generations. So not only am I am active member, but I'm also planning on leaving something to ensure WQXR's healthy future.

A Broadcasting Legacy
With the support of people like you, we are preserving classical music on New York City's airwaves on Classical WQXR 105.9, offering music programming that has been thoughtfully infused with New York City's cultural life. WQXR seeks to bring the world’s greatest classical artists and ensembles into millions of homes through broadcast and digital transmission.
Today, as a part of New York Public Radio, WQXR is essential to the everyday lives of listeners in New York and, increasingly, those listeners around the world who tune in through the internet. With the opening of The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, listeners are also welcomed inside New York Public Radio for engaging discussions, cutting-edge multi-media arts programs, and the joys of music—both classical and contemporary.
You can ensure that future listeners will enjoy the same level of excellence in public radio broadcasting by making a legacy gift from your estate to support New York Public Radio. We invite you to explore the options presented here and to discuss this information with your estate or financial advisors. As you consider a legacy gift we would be happy to talk with you about your planning. Contact our Listeners Legacy Circle at legacygiving@wqxr.org or (646) 829-4587 so that we can work with you to ensure that your goals can be accomplished.

The charitable bequest written into your Last Will and Testament is a simple yet effective way of providing for WQXR without giving up the asset until death. You can choose to:
- Make a specific bequest of a sum of money or designated asset;
- Designate WQXR to receive a percentage of your estate once administrative expenses, taxes, and specific bequests are paid; or
- Establish a contingent bequest whereby your assets would go to other beneficiaries so long as they survive you, but if not, to WQXR.
WQXR should be identified in beneficiary designations by the legal name, New York Public Radio, with a principal place of business at 160 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013; Federal Tax I.D. #13-3015230.
Naming WQXR as a beneficiary of all or part of your deferred retirement plans is a very tax efficient way to leave a legacy. To accomplish this you request a beneficiary designation form from your plan administrator and insert New York Public Radio, 160 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013.
Naming New York Public Radio as a beneficiary of all or part of life insurance proceeds is another simple way to make a legacy gift. For an existing policy, obtain a beneficiary designation form from the life insurance company and name New York Public Radio as the beneficiary. For added benefit you may name New York Public Radio the owner of the policy and possibly be entitled to an income tax charitable deduction.
Options for leaving a legacy for WQXR, with income for you during your lifetime
A Charitable Gift Annuity is a great gift plan to consider if you want to support the future of WQXR and not give up the income you currently receive from your assets. A fixed payment stream is paid to you for your lifetime (may be joint lives) at a very attractive rate. The rate is dependent on your closest age at the time you make the gift. In addition, a portion of each year's annuity is tax-free income for a number of years and you may be able to deduct a portion of the gift as an income tax charitable deduction.
If you are trying to project future income needs, perhaps for retirement, you may be interested in a Deferred Charitable Gift Annuity. This option allows you to know today what annuity payment you can expect to receive at a given time in the future. Also, you receive a current income tax deduction. This plan can help you supplement your retirement income without the savings limits imposed on deferred retirement vehicles.
Age and gift amount restrictions apply. For your personal proposal please contact our Listeners Legacy Circle at legacygiving@wqxr.org or (646) 829-4587.

If you have a primary residence, vacation home, commercial property, or undeveloped land you might want to consider a gift to New York Public Radio of that asset. The gift can take many forms. You may give it now if you are not using the property and avail yourself of current tax benefits or through a bequest in your will or living trust. Please contact our Listeners Legacy Circle at legacygiving@wqxr.org or (646) 829-4587.
