To close off our week-long Maximum Reich 2.0 festival, on Sunday at 2 p.m., Cued Up is raising the champagne glass to some of the composer's most compelling and blissful chamber music.

Listen to Chiara Quartet, NOW Ensemble and Matmos share a concert bill that spans the outer reaches of haunting string quartets, groovy electronic experimentalism, and instrumental chamber pop intricacy.

This week's featured guest is The Chiara Quartet's Rebecca Fischer and Jonah Sirota. Duality drives a lot of today’s composers. On the one hand, they continue the threads started by the likes of Monteverdi, Handel, Beethoven and Ravel. On the other, they’re also working with a preponderance of musical genres that, had they existed in the 17^th, 18^th or 19^th Centuries, would surely have been drawn on as well by their predecessors.

As far back as I can recall, the string quartet has resonated with me on an almost spiritual level, and I really do mean as far back as I can remember. When I was old enough and accomplished enough to participate in performing string quartets, well, that's when casual flirtation morphed into full-on obsession.
