The ferociously fearless JACK Quartet hosted Extended Play, SONiC's all day marathon of New Music featuring some of the most innovative ensembles New York City has to offer. The nine hour extravaganza took place from noon to midnight on October 16, 2011, featured eight ensembles, and highlighted the works of forty-four composers.

Christian Marclay: Festival

On Sunday, September 19 at 2 p.m., Cued Up on Q2 launches its Fall Season with performances from the Whitney Museum's Christian Marclay: Festival, a retrospective for the iconoclastic turntablist, composer and artist. The festival enlists an army of prominent experimental musicians, many of whom have collaborated with Marclay in the past, to perform and intertpret his art pieces, which often serve the dual function of both graphic score and art object.

On Friday, the 13th, Q2 asked New York's community of adventurous music lovers to react to and document, via Q2's Facebook and Twitter accounts, a visceral and cerebral performance that took place at the Whitney's Christian Marclay: Festival. The concert was led by the seminal downtown guitarist/composer/saxophonist Elliott Sharp, who performed and conducted Marclay's Graffiti Composition with the electric guitar quartet, Dither.
