On Wednesday, February 8 at 7:30 pm ET, Q2 Music presents a live audio Webcast of Son Lux, Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, and new-music heavyweights yMusic as part of the Ecstatic Music Festival.

From Clarice Jensen's fiery cello line that kicks off the opening track you get the sense listening to Beautiful Mechanical that you're sitting in some funky loft kitchen listening to your best friends engage in an impromptu jam session. That's not to say that yMusic doesn't infuse their debut album with a great deal of work and backbone -- that's an obvious fact from the first lines as well. However, the collaborative cabal makes it all look so effortless and off-the-cuff that it's certain to rouse that rare balance of admiration and envy.

On Wednesday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m., Q2 and New Sounds Live team up to bring you a live audio Webcast from Merkin Concert Hall hosted by WNYC's John Schaefer. Part of the inaugural Ecstatic Music Festival, this evening features composer/vocalist Shara Worden and the stunning sextet yMusic performing works by Worden and Sarah Kirkland Snider.

Since it burst onto the scene four years ago, New Amsterdam Records has been at the forefront of New York City's indie-classical music scene. In this October 18, 2010 show at (Le) Poisson Rouge, New Amsterdam Records' co-director, Sarah Kirkland Snider, celebrates the recent release of her song cycle, Penelope.
