- Current law prohibits specifics of composer, performer, time.
It is legal to say, "In the ... hour, we will here some [composer's name, or, artist's name]. That's about it.
- I do not see anyone here pitching for ANY digital file format, not even a wave file or some Apple file.
I have nothing but .mp3's, ranging from 128k to 320k.
Some of you are missing a bet. Not the listening room people, but, the rest.
- John had a "record shop" owner on Soundcheck a while ago.
He said that what people bought depended on other life conditions. Well off enough for a "listening room"? He sells them LP's, and there are plenty available. NYC apartment and not a lot of space? CD's, he sells plenty. Highly mobile? They buy .mp3's, he sells them, the quality at 320k is just fine.
- I have this piece in my Tavener collection, thank you John S. It never ceases to excite the blood.
- Steven Mackey is at the Music Department at Princeton University. He was recently interviewed at length by Marvin Rosen at WPRB, Princeton, NJ. Professor Mackey in an interesting guy. He had an electric guitar and turned it into a full professorship. That's pretty inspirational.
WPRB is slowly getting all of Marvin's interviews up at http://blog.wprb.com
- You know, I actually own this? And a bunch nore.
I remember hearing this kind of singing on New Sounds. I hotsied my self down to the Princeton Record Exchange in Princeton, NJ, and bought on the spot about six discs, different groups.
- Where is our "Report" utility when we need it? There is a definite spam injection here.
- Once, when Jim Svejda played this recording, after Ms Hahn's last notes, he said, " Ah, ya' big show off ya'...well, if you've got that much to show off, show it off, by all means!!"
This is my favorite, probably because of Jim.
