British Police Arrest 12 Men on Suspicion of Terrorism

British Police have announced the arrests of twelve people suspected of planning terrorist activity in the United Kingdom.

In a release posted on its Web site, the Metropolitan Police Service said the men "were detained on suspicions of the commission, preparation, or instigation of an act of terrorism in the U.K." The suspects, all between the ages of 17 and 28, were arrested in London, Stoke-on-Tent, and Cardiff, according to police.

According to The Associated Press, authorities were observing the men for some time.
