Nomination is more than enough! With one or two exceptions (never mind which), that is one fine shopping list.

My choice, my vote, is for Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder as sung by Measha Brueggergosman with the Cleveland Orchestra conducted by Maestro Franz Weiser-Moest on the Deutsche Grammophon CD set.
Today on Thursday February 10th, we see how EGYPT's people's LOVE FOR FREEDOM vouchsafes a new era, not only for freedom politically, but also freedom for lovers irrespective of family, religion, social or other intervention. A NEW DAY is arriving !!! Hope the GRAMMY's allow enough time to promote the classical music nominees winners. They have NOT in the past.

Anne Sofie Von Otter's CD "Ombre de mon Amant" is a stunning tour de force. She brings the French Baroque to life in a vibrant, passionate way- very different from the standard, petrified interpretation. Her voice is as beautiful as ever, and her artistry just grows....

This year's roster of nominees is much more diverse than in previous years, however my favoite Classical record of 2010 was not included as it got nominated int he Classical Crossover category. That CD would be Matt Haimovitz' "Meeting of the Spirits".

That CD is amazing, Matt's 8 piece band with guests John Mclaughlin and others with some amazing arrangements by David Sanford make this the most unique record in the field.

Mat's CD is out on his own Oxingale Records label. I hope that you are able to somehow check it out!
