Toyota Extends Recall To 6 More Models

Thursday, January 28, 2010

Toyota has extended its U.S. vehicle recall to include the Highlander, Venza, the Pontiac Vibe and two other Toyota models. The announcement comes a day after Toyota said it would suspend U.S. sales and production of eight other Toyota models, including the Camry and the Corolla, because of sticking gas pedals.

The Associated Press reports that the auto giant is also recalling 75,500 RAV4 sport utility vehicles manufactured in China between March 2009 and January 2010 for the same gas pedal problem.

Toyota said earlier Thursday it would also recall vehicles in Europe, although it has not said the number of vehicles involved.
