Karita Mattila and Martin Katz in Recital

Email a Friend

Finnish soprano Karita Mattila is a fixture of international opera stages and concert halls. Here in New York, she's put a powerful stamp on roles like Tosca and Salome at the Metropolitan Opera. In this recital, she presents a series of intimate art songs, including Banalités, one of Francis Poulenc’s most beloved song cycles; the rich Five Poems of Baudelaire by Debussy; the Four Dream Songs of countryman Aulis Sallinen, and the gorgeous lieder of Joseph Marx. Joining her at the piano is Martin Katz.

Join us once again for a live chat during the performance, taking place here and on Twitter (#chlive). The chat starts below at 7:30 pm and the concert begins at 8 pm.
