On March 25, new-music heavyweights the JACK Quartet celebrated the complex lyricism of American modernists Charles Ives and Ruth Crawford Seeger and teamed up with composer-guitarist Steven Mackey to present his Physical Property in another of Carnegie Hall's Neighborhood Concerts.

Presented as part of Carnegie Hall's take on last month's American Mavericks celebration, the concert was recorded at NYC's Abrons Art Center, and included performances of Ive's String Quartet No. 2 and Seeger's String Quartet, "1931." MacKey joined the quartet on guitar for their performance of his Physical Properties, a piece originally premiered by the Kronos Quartet. Read more about the performance here.

Cued Up airs Wednesdays at 3 pm and repeats Thursdays at 7 pm.
