This week's show offers up some savory sounds for your ears to accompany your Thanksgiving feast. But these Thanksgiving treats are a little bit edgy, and might bite back.

We celebrate the Pilgrims' voyage from England with several British selections – from the Scottish wit of James MacMillan's Britannia all the way to the craggy drama of Harrison Birtwistle's Tragoedia. Liverpool's resident geniuses are represented in Raphael Moster's recomposition of "Blackbird," and the voyage to America is made complete with Elliott Carter's beguiling Cello Sonata.

We trust this hearty meal will stretch your ears, and that you'll join us next week for a dessert course composed of sweeter fare.
