On-Demand Video: András Schiff Plays Bach in The Greene Space

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

András Schiff András Schiff (Nadia F. Romanini/ECM Records)

This Wednesday at 7 pm, Hungarian pianist András Schiff joins host Jeff Spurgeon to discuss and perform the music of J.S. Bach.

As WQXR's recent Bach 360 festival demonstrated, Bach's keyboard literature has an enduring resonance, whether on harpsichord, organ or the modern grand piano. It is on the latter instrument that Schiff has made a name for himself over the past three decades, most recently with his recording of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier.

Schiff plays some of Bach's works as well as those by other composers in this one-hour program.

The event is now sold out, but you can watch or listen right here with our live video webcast.
