BBC Proms: Mitsuko Uchida Plays Beethoven

On Saturday, Aug. 24 at 5 pm, WQXR broadcasts the sixth in a series of performances from the BBC Proms festival in London. Mitsuko Uchida returns to the Proms after an absence of almost 20 years as the soloist in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4.

Mariss Jansons, who celebrates his 70th birthday this year, also conducts the Bavarian Radio Symphony in Berlioz’s 1830 gothic masterpiece Symphonie fantastique.

This Prom was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall on Aug. 8.
