At least 49 people have died today in Iraq, following seven explosions across Baghdad. More than 160 were wounded.
The Associated Press reports that the blasts crumbled apartment buildings. One of the explosions took place near Iraq's Culture Ministry. Suicide bombings targeting foreign embassies have killed at least 40 people in Baghdad this week.
Baghdad's top military spokesman, Major General Qassim al-Moussawi, says Iraq's Al Qaeda is responsible for the attack. He said it is trying to disrupt the political process in Iraq, where parties are forming a new government after the country's elections on March 7.
