Meadowlands to Host 2014 Super Bowl

The Jets and Giants will host Super Bowl 48 at their new Meadowlands stadium.

NFL owners this afternoon embraced the idea of a cold-weather site for the February 2014 championship, rejecting balmier Florida locations. Earlier today, Mayor Bloomberg hailed the idea of a New York Super Bowl - especially the business it would bring to the area.

City Economic Development Corporation President Seth Pinsky says the economic impact of a Super Bowl would be in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
