Deportations Rise Under Obama Administration

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is on track to deport or expel some 400,000 illegal immigrants this year. That's 8 percent more than ICE expelled under the Bush administration in 2008.
"In contrast to years past, about half of those deportees are being targeted not simply for being in the country illegally, but for committing some other crime while they are here," Scott Horsley , NPR's White House correspondent told WNYC's Soterios Johnson.
