Tuesday, May 03, 2011

The 2011 Tony Award nominations were announced today from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center by Tony award winners Matthew Broderick and Anika Noni Rose.

"The Book of Mormon," the new musical comedy by South Park masterminds Trey Parker and Matt Stone, leads with 14 nods. Following it with 12 nominations was "The Scottsboro Boys," a musical based on the 1930s case in which nine black men were unjustly accused of attacking two white women on a train in Alabama. See a complete list of award nominees at TonyAwards.com.

Before the awards show on June 12, tell us who you think will take home the big awards in the musical categories.
