Arcangelo Plays Bach and Handel

Join us on Monday, Nov. 18 at 8 pm as we bring you the London-based period-instrument ensemble Arcangelo in program of works by J. S. Bach and J. C. Bach, as well as Handel’s mythological tale of unrequited love, Apollo e Dafne. Russian violinist Alina Ibragimova is the soloist in Bach's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in A minor.

Arcangelo was founded in 2010 by the English conductor Jonathan Cohen. It has since recorded several albums and has appeared at various venues and early-music festivals throughout the UK and Europe.

I attended last evening's performance (thanks, Karen!) and it was pure heaven from start to finish.

I had never heard Handel's 'Apollo e Daphne' before and it was...astonishing.

I'm looking forward to listening to the concert when it's re-broadcast.

Absolute perfection.
