Charles Wuorinen – what can you say about a composer like this? Besides having won a slew of awards, collaborated with the likes of Salman Rushdie and Annie Proulx, and befriended Edgard Varèse and Igor Stravinsky in his youth, he also claims the honor of "most heard composer" on the Brothers Balliett.

This is why we're so excited and honored to have Mr. Wuorinen visit the Q2 Studios to chat about some recent and upcoming pieces, style and form, and general thoughts about the new music world today. An extended interview and a selection of pieces that run the gamut of genre aims to give the Wuorinen neophyte a hearty first bite of art from this master, while giving the Wuorinen fan something they've never before heard.

We hear chamber music, a tuba concerto, orchestral music, sacred music, and a selection from a touching cantata called It Happens Like This. All this and so much more happens when the Brothers talk to Charles Wuorinen – this is truly one you don't want to miss.
