Q: What do US-based composer David Brynjar Franzson, Romanian-German music educator Adriana Holszky, and accordion virtuoso Teodori Anzelotti have in common?

A: they are all making strides in reintroducing the organ, in one way or another, back into the new music fold.

Franzson does so as part of a series aptly titled "the negotiation of context", Holszky with a fascinating duo for organ and percussion, and Anzelotti through a different kind of organ – the hand-held organ, the squeeze-box or accordion. In an original and striking arrangement, Anzelotti brings Gyorgy Ligeti's magical and magisterial Musica Ricercata to life in an expert and virtuosic arrangement.

Let's all think about the organ again. Together. Today at 3 and Sunday at 8.
