On April 4, the 8th annual Switchboard Music Festival brings together an eclectic mix of new-music makers for a day of performances in San Francisco. Directed by composer Ryan Brown and clarinetists Annie Phillips and Jeff Anderle, the festival focuses largely on Bay Area artists. Recent headliners include Kronos Quartet, Zoë Keating and Pamela Z.

This year celebrates the 50th anniversary of Terry Riley's In C with the world premiere of In C Re-Do, a commission co-composed by artists (and past festival performers) including Glenn Kotche, Greg Saunier of Deerhoof and Carla Kihlstedt.

For their Mixtape, the Switchboard directors offer a live-recording playlist of festival alum as well as artists slated for this year's performance.
