Several months after I met my future husband of fifty two years,
we decided that for then and forever Saint Saens concerto #4 would be our love song. It has beautiful lilting passages and wonderful crescendos that warm the heart.Back at that time, I actually danced to that piece in our garden of our home.

Chopin's Raindrop Prelude is so blissfully hypnotic. Most romantic!

The first act love duet, "O soave fanciulla," from LA BOHEME, best rendered in the Sir Thomas Beecham recording with the golden-voiced Jussi Bjoerling and Victoria de los Angeles.

How does one submit a request for Valentine's Day?
You refer to a form on the page, but nothing is visible to me.
Please advise before the deadline.
My request is:

Chopin's Contredanse is a light piece that, I believe, captures the beginnings of romance – a first date. Two unsure souls meeting; feelings of passion unfolding as the night progresses; bittersweet feelings as they part.

I love Vivaldi's Four Seasons. First heard it many years ago at Tanglewood, when I was a newly wed. Whenever I hear it I remember that happy summer. Still happily married, but in the winter season of my life.

The trio in Act 3 of Der Rosenkavalier brings chills to both my wife and me. It is romantic and take us back to the romance of our youth. We especially like the trio sung by Elizabeth Schwartzkopf, Tatiana Troyanos, and Judith Blegen. For us it is the perfect music for Valentine's Day and we hope you will play it, so that, perhaps others will share our chills.

I heard Satie's Gymnopedie #3 at a lovely wedding which took place outdoors in the woods. I've loved it ever since. I'm not sure that the marriage lasted, but the memory did.

Ravel's Bolero. Sets the mood... expands upon it... paces it... maintains it... and if timed right... the concert bass drum's closing triplets will render you both numb.

The most romantic piece of music in the repertory is Mozart's clarinet concerto. I heard it first as background in Out of Africa and walked down the aisle to its strains at my wedding in 2010. Please play it for Dave and me on Valentines Day.
Thanks and love, Mary

It's great to read the rules to the Valentine's giveaway and to comment on the giveaway but, but there doesn't seem to be a way to enter the giveaway! Am I missing something?
