The late George Jellinek offers an historical survey of the great Verdi singers from the first half of the 20th century, including Francesco Tamagno who was the first Otello, Rosa Ponselle and Giovanni Martinelli in a rare recording from Aida and American baritone Lawrence Tibbett. This episode premiered in 2001.
