The debut episode, available at Q2Music.org and iTunes, explores a riveting performance of Steve Reich’s Grammy Award-winning composition Different Trains by the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME). Hanick also interviews Reich, cellist Clarice Jensen and violinist Caroline Shaw.

“Q2 Music has been proud to partner with (Le) Poisson Rouge for over five years, united in our shared values for showcasing and championing new music,” said Alex Ambrose, Producer at Q2 Music. “The launch of LPR Live is the latest chapter in our evolving partnership, and an exciting opportunity to build upon the success of Meet the Composer, this time bringing complete pieces of vibrant contemporary classical music to a new, eager podcast audience."

"The LPR Live podcast with Q2 Music will capture the intimacy and breadth of aesthetic scope for which (Le) Poisson Rouge is known, adding a narrative that gives insight and perspective on the works themselves and the process that creates them,” said David Handler, Co-Founder of (Le) Poisson Rouge. “There is no one we trust more than Q2 Music to provide that commentary. We're excited to share these first few episodes and look forward to giving many deserving artists this new platform for discovery."

“LPR Live” is the second podcast from Q2 Music, following the Kickstarter-fueled “Meet the Composer” featuring host Nadia Sirota in conversation with today’s leading composers and artists. Subsequent seasons of "LPR Live" are slated to include music across a broad spectrum of classically-minded artists and ensembles, including the avant-classical outfit Bing & Ruth, experimental piano duo of Bruce Brubaker and Franceso Tristano, and composer-violinist Sara Neufeld of Arcade Fire.
